Killarney Avenue Hotel is proud to be the original property of the O’Donoghue Ring Collection, a family-owned hospitality group at the heart of Killarney. Our story begins in 1978 when Michael O’Donoghue and Donal Ring purchased a modest property. Known as the East Avenue Hotel, with just 16 rooms and a function space, it quickly earned a loyal local following. By 1988, the hotel had evolved into the Killarney Avenue Hotel we know and love today, featuring 66 rooms, Druids Restaurant, and The Kenmare Rooms, and the Avenue Suite.
From these beginnings, Killarney Avenue Hotel has emerged as a beloved four-star destination, known for its classic country house charm, timeless interiors, and proximity to the Golden Gates of Killarney National Park. What started with just 16 rooms has grown into a hub of heartfelt hospitality, celebrating community and tradition.
The Heart of Killarney
As part of the O’Donoghue Ring Collection, our mission is to deliver genuine, guest-centred hospitality grounded in Kerry’s traditions and local culture. The Collection has expanded to include sister properties like Killarney Plaza Hotel & Spa, Killarney Towers Hotel, and River Island Hotel in Castleisland, alongside iconic venues such as Café du Parc, The Tan Yard, Pigs Lane and O’Donoghue Public House.
Under the leadership of Gemma Ring, we continue to honour our family’s legacy while looking forward with energy, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to our people and our place.
